The Development Link's Facilitation Skills Programme produces high quality facilitators who can:
- Facilitate organisation-specific learning material and
- Apply facilitation skills to a wide range learning and development programmes
This 4 day programme covers both theory and practice - with the emphasis on practice - as the
ultimate aim is to develop facilitation skills and to build confidence.

The theory covers the
7 facilitation competencies by introducing specific behavioural indicators for each:
- Organising
- Commitment
- Oral communication and Impact
- Interpersonal sensitivity
- Challenging thinking
- Managing learning activities
- Resilience
practice
Each participant takes part in
3 practice sessions - followed by individual feedback sessions:
Practice Session 1: Benchmark (10 mins): The purpose is to establish existing competence levels.
Practice Session 2: Organisation-specific material (20 mins): The purpose is to consolidate existing
competencies and improve identified developmental areas.
Practice Session 3: Generic Leadership Programme (30 mins): The best test of facilitation skills is having
to facilitate unfamiliar content - this session brings together all that has been covered and identifies areas for
ongoing enhancement.
